The menu
Dinner, Monday to Saturday. Everything here is served on injera and meant to be shared, so most tables order a platter for the number of people eating and add a tsebhi or two from the list if something catches their eye.
Chef's platters
This is how most tables order, and the easiest first order if you have never eaten this food before. The chef picks a selection of the main dishes, arranges them on a bed of injera, and the table shares, so all you need to tell us is how many people are eating.
About half of each platter is mild. Ask for it all mild if you like, or tell us the numbers for a mixed table, say mixed for three and vegetarian for one, and it comes out together.

Good to know
- All our meat is halal. About half the menu is vegan, and every dish in the vegetarian section is vegan. No savoury dish contains dairy or peanuts. Rice instead of injera, at no charge, for anyone avoiding gluten.
- Our injera comes fresh each day from a specialist injera bakery near us and is made from rice, red sorghum and corn flours with some wheat. If you avoid gluten, ask for steamed rice instead of injera; the swap is free.
- Berbere, the red spice blend in the hot dishes, is sent to us by family at home. Cooked slowly into onions and our olive-oil ghee it turns deep, dark and glossy, and the heat comes on late and stays warm.
- Our vegan ghee is made in-house from olive oil and spices, so it contains no dairy.
- Spicy on the menu means made with berbere, our red chilli blend, medium heat. Mild means no chilli. Fresh green chilli and chilli paste are on the side if you want more heat.
- Prices include GST. EFTPOS and cards accepted (MasterCard, Visa and AMEX, with a 2% card surcharge).
